Deborah E. Lipstadt is an American professor of history, the author of the book "Denial: Holocaust History on Trial" and the heroine of the film "Denial" by Mick Jackson.
"Denial" is a fact-based courtroom drama, whose plot revolves around the libel suit. In 1998, British historian David Irving famous Holocaust denier, sued prof. Lipstadt for libel. On April 11, 2000, the British Royal High Court of Justice ruled in her favor.
The meeting will be hosted by Dr. Agnieszka Graff, who specialises in American Studies and gives lectures on gender studies.

In the course of our conversation together with prof. Lipstadt and theology prof. Stanislaw Obirek we will try to answer the following questions:
How to fight for the truth, when there will be no witnesses? What is the role / responsibility of the historians, lawyers and journalists in the times of "post-truth"? Should the responsibility for the truth about the Holocaust be taken solely on the shoulders of the descendants of the victims? Or, it is even important?

Prof. Lipstadt arrives in Poland at the invitation of the United International Pictures - Polish distributor of the film "Denial" which
comes out on January 27, 2017.

Co-organizer of this meeting is Political Critique.
