Exploring Poland Polin 2016

The Taube Center has been awarded a grant by the Polish Senate in support of the third year of its flagship heritage study tour program:  “Exploring Poland/Polin Heritage Study Tour – Summer 2016”.  The first cohort of 15 students from universities from around the United States will begin the program in Warsaw on June 15th.  This year, the Center is introducing a new professional development program, Seminar on Wheels (dates) for guides, educators, and junior academics.  For more information about these programs, please see attached brochure or visit the program’s website www.polandpolin.pl and FB.

This year’s programs enjoy the support of the Taube Center, the Taube Foundation for Jewish Life & Culture, and additional support from the Michael Traison Fund for Poland.

"Exploring Poland/Polin Heritage Study Tour” is the first-of-its kind program developed and implemented by the Taube Center for the Renewal of Jewish Life in Poland Foundation. The program brings American university students of Polish and Polish Jewish descent to Poland to discover their shared histories, connect with contemporary Poland and strengthen their Polish and Jewish identities. During the 11-day long intensive immersion programs members of Diaspora communities are exploring Poland’s multicultural heritage and engaging in Poland’s present day issues and achievements. The program integrates academic and experiential learning opportunities and includes: workshops, panel discussions with Poland’s leading academics and cultural leaders, walking tours, site visits, and late-night meetings with peers and colleagues. Participants encounter and engage with Poland’s history, contemporary cultural and social life, and enjoy learning about cutting-edge cultural trends. The participants are selected from applicants from universities from across the United States.
